Recent Articles

Meet Abraham Yael Pérez Mosqueda, a renowned digital artist originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, who showcased crypto art at prestigious venues like Art Basel (Floating Pixels Exhibition, 2022) and Times Square (NFT-NYC Exhibition).

Abraham demonstrates a passion for innovation, exploring and refines novel techniques in art creation and aspires to become a versatile creator in the realm of Digital and NFT Artists.

Who’s Abraham?

“I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico a city that haS art festivals every year like Cervantino or other cinema, music and entertainment events”

In this context, Abraham embarked on his first experience in digital art, saving diligently to acquire an iPod Touch gen 4, renowned for its advanced mobile camera capabilities with 3 and 7-megapixel lenses, a groundbreaking feat upon its 2010 release.

The kickstart of his career

At the tender age of 10, he meticulously stashed away every penny his parents provided for school lunches until he could finally purchase the device from the Apple Store with the assistance of his father.

With his new gadget in hand, Abraham delved into photography, though he quickly encountered frustration with the pixelation of images when zooming in.

This challenge spurred him to explore photo editing apps, igniting a passion for constant experimentation and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Hailing from a city steeped in Mexican traditions, such as the vibrant celebrations of the Day of the Dead, Abraham’s artistic aesthetic was profoundly influenced by his cultural surroundings.

Unlike in other cultures, death in Mexico is not taboo but celebrated with colorful decorations and rituals.

Cultural background and inspiration

Years of practice and exploration eventually led Abraham to pursue studies in architecture in Mexico, followed by studying languages like Italian, German, and French.

This diverse educational background provided him with the opportunity to enrol in a university in Italy to study Multimedia Arts, and since then, his artistic career has flourished, with highlights including exhibitions at prestigious events like Art Basel and showcases in Times Square, New York City.

Abraham, approaches his work with a technical mindset and in his creative process involves meticulous planning, from conceptualization to execution.

For instance, for his artwork Apollo and Daphne, Abraham traveled to Rome to study Bernini’s sculpture firsthand at Galleria Borghese, where he meticulously documented his observations, capturing images of both the sculpture and its surroundings to inform the creation of a 3D model.

These images also served as inspiration for the textures and visual elements of the final piece, which he further enhanced with animation and original music composition.

In a rapidly evolving digital art landscape, Abraham stays abreast of technological advancements, particularly in areas like NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and the art market.

Furthermore, he emphasizes the importance of remaining informed and engaged with online communities, social media platforms like Instagram, and fellow artists to anticipate trends and adapt his practice accordingly.

The main themes in his artwork

His artistic explorations span a wide range of themes, from art and history to literature, music, mathematics, and economics.

He draws inspiration from diverse sources, whether it’s solving trigonometric functions for geometric perspectives or capturing the ambiance of a nightclub for future projects.

For Abraham, creating art is not only a means of self-expression but also a catalyst for deepening his understanding of various subjects, before getting into the art process itself.

While he utilizes editing programs like Blender, Photoshop, and Revit in his creative process, He acknowledges the transformative impact of technology on the digital art realm, embracing change as an opportunity for growth and exploration into new artistic territories.

The Use of AI

“I try to change and mess up the process so I could create something new that I didn’t expect”

Despite the rapid advancements in AI technology, surprisingly Abraham’s artwork doesn’t involve the use of AI:

“I haven’t used any AI in the process of my works so far “

Unlike many digital artists who rely heavily on AI algorithms to expedite the creative process, Abraham opts for a more hands-on approach, fostering a sense of authenticity and uniqueness in his work:

“the reason I haven’t gone deep into AI regarding my work is that the main goal of my artworks is to learn more about a subject that intrigues me”
